Some Frequently Asked Questions.

  • Where is the nearest airport?

    Brindisi (Papola Casale) is 30 minutes away by car and Bari (Karol Wojtyla) around one hour away with regular flights from the UK, across Europe and car hire right outside both airport terminals.

  • How close are the shops and restaurants?

    Cisternino is the nearest town for cafes, bars, restaurants, shopping and supermarkets and is 15 minutes away by car. Ostuni in the nearest city and you can be there within 20 minutes.

  • Will we need a car?

    100% yes. Although the local train service is excellent, Il Rifugio is fifteen minutes from the nearest town, so you’d miss so much of the area and all it has to offer without your own car.

  • How do we book?

    You can check availability and book via ilrifugio@gmail.com. Bookings are typically Saturday to Saturday in peak season and for a minimum of seven nights. Manuela, our housekeeper, will check you in and out. We do ask for a security deposit against all damages and breakages but will be fair!

  • Is the house suitable for children?

    There is a travel cot and high chair for our youngest visitors, but this is a house for children 5+. The house is not adapted for toddlers.

  • How much is it to rent?

    Peak months in Puglia are July and August and the house is £4,500 per week fully inclusive. The Puglia season lasts April to October and we charge £4,000 per week during these months for full capacity use. Prices may be negotiable for smaller groups.
